The many pencil, oil and other mediums used by Larry Compton reveal his challenges in art; thus the name “Artful Endeavors”. As a boy the natural gift to draw that emerged in Larry became the toehold for a career on a drawing board in technical occupations, presenting ideas that were at times, highly influenced by an artistic hand.

Growing up in rural northern New Jersey I was privileged to have experienced the rewards of a simpler life style; one that many people now strive for in this modern, hectic world. When I was maybe 8 or 9, I started to have an interest in art not only in school but at home as well. Not the only artist in the family I first recognize my late brother Lonnie who was highly recognized for art and creativity on the board. I probably won’t ever know where or from whom this untaught instinctive ability to draw comes from. It still lives in multiple cousins plus, I even remember on occasion my father putting pencil to paper in an artistic manner.
